![]() We’re finally out of the hospital and back home with our new baby. Isn’t she adorable? Seriously though, this entire rebranding process felt more like childbirth than I could have imagined and I really had to surrender. I know, I know, I haven’t actually had my first child yet, so it’s different.
But you get what I’m saying. It’s messy. It’s emotional (watch my video, and you’ll know I’m not kidding). And it comes with a ton of unexpected surprises along the way. September 25th was my birthday and to be honest, I woke up in a sweaty panic. I was in the middle of a Lyme relapse and I knew it immediately. But that wasn’t the reason for the delay in our website “going live.” At the very end of the race, we were delayed by server issues that would have happened whether we were birthing a new site or not. Server issues. Really, Universe?
One of my clients pointed me to this Shonda Rhimes quote last week: “Shonda, how do you do it all? The answer is this: I don’t. Whenever you see me somewhere succeeding in one area of my life, that almost certainly means that I am failing in another area of my life.”
Our website is beautiful, but my health is not stellar this week. A few weeks ago, it was the opposite. Life will throw you for so many loops you can’t even begin to keep up, and a lot of people don’t go for what they really want (the job, business, book, relationship, you name it), because they’re afraid of just that. Afraid they won’t be able to handle it. Afraid of failing completely. Breathe, because it doesn’t have to be perfect. You just have to be brave.
Our branding guru, Chelsey Marie is all about being brave, and I’m all for telling the truth. So here we are telling the brave truth about what it takes to birth something you really love into the world.
I’ll tell you what it took to get to the finish line (in terms of time, money, energy), what I’m still not happy with and where to start as you check us out.
If you can’t watch the video right now, just take a peek at our new site, have a look around and then flag the video for later. Thanks for joining me to celebrate this new evolution and for honoring me in all my messy love. Our entire IGC crew is beyond grateful to have you as part of the journey. xoxo, Katie |
