Fearless.
Do you hate that word as much as I do?
Shannon Whaley here, Leader at Inner Glow Circle.
I want you to know that I am NOT fearless. I feel alllll the fear when I’m making big decisions. I choose to make the decisions anyway.
I want to share with you some of the things I’ve been hearing in my business lately.
- “I’d love to work with you but I can’t afford it.”
- “Once I’m farther along in my business I’ll give you a call. I really want to work with you.”
- “I feel like I’m banging my head against a wall over here. But it’s really expensive. Let me figure out how to bring in some money and we’ll be in touch.”
When I hear those things, this is what I’m really seeing.
- Women who deeply desire a different life.
- Women who want to have a massive impact on this world by sharing their gifts and knowledge.
- Women who are SO READY to take their life and business to the next level, but who are scared shitless to do what it takes to get there.
- Women who spend the next 6 months following this coach, that coach, signing up for this freebie and trying that shiny new thing over there…and never really getting anywhere in their business. And when I check in with them six months after our first Discovery Call, they’re in exactly the same place!
Please believe me when I tell you that I TOTALLY get it.
Taking that next step is scary. Investing in yourself at a high level is scary! Charging a program to your credit card is scary! It’s all scary. I’ve been there myself.
And yet, something always told me intuitively that I HAD TO do it.
Even though I thought I was going to barf. Even though my body was hot, my heart was racing, and I had ALLLLL the excuses as to why I couldn’t afford it.
There was a calm ‘knowing’ that I was making the right decision each time.
I wanted a business that I was proud of. That felt like an extension of me. That was authentic and real. I desired a business that held me to a higher standard and that pushed me to be a better person. I wanted a business that held me accountable so I stayed strong in my recovery from drugs and alcohol. I desired a business where I could get paid to be ME, to be more of me and who I wanted to become. I was ready.
Our survival mechanisms are really good at keeping us ‘safe’, which is also another way of saying ‘stuck’.
When we feel that fear creep up, we have two choices. We can feel the fear and stay where we are, or we can feel the fear and do it anyway.
I may look calm when I’m hearing no after no, but inside I’m screaming. And…it’s the most amazing feeling ever!
You read that right. It’s an amazing feeling, because it’s how I know I’m alive and creating magic in my life.
Everything I’ve created in the last 6 months is because I invested in myself and my business at a high level.
My 1:1 practice is two dreamy and driven women away from being full. I was interviewed for a Coaches Summit as well as in an article for business productivity tools. I created a successful six month, one-on-one coaching package, with a group program in the works. And I was asked to speak at my first paid retreat for coaches!!!
I felt the fear, acknowledged it, thanked it, flipped it the bird and walked right past it.
Are you ready to feel the fear and move forward anyway?
