Before we even get started here, I want to say the Inner Glow Circle sisterhood sends its deepest condolences and prayers to the victims, families and all impacted by the tragic shooting in Orlando. If there’s ever a time the world needs rebirth and reinvention, it’s now. There may be darkness we cannot comprehend, but even hate can be transmuted into love. What are you here to create, sister?

Speaking of creation, Kelly Atwood has a story to tell you this week. And since she’s in birth mode, consider me her spiritual midwife.

I spent Sunday night hanging with my mom, watching BBC’s Call the Midwife. I’m always fascinated by female-dominated industries and how easily women form powerful communities in these types of work.

It’s so clear that community is the core of womanhood.

I started to think about the spiritual aspects of midwifing. A midwife literally witnesses, supports and assists other women as they bring life into the world. I have a private coaching practice, creative works and a coaching business which I’m rebirthing, again and again. And I am often witnessed by other women in my process.

But a big part of my job is to be the assist. To be the midwife.

Someone’s always giving birth around here. We witness women:

  • Just realizing they’re pregnant (I found THE idea! I’m going to DO this business.)
  • In their first trimester (Realizing their dream is actually coming to life!)
  • Second (Announcing to the world! Notably the most enjoyable time. Steady growth without significant pain.)
  • And third (Likely the most painful, often accompanied by swelling. Infrastructure expands and hips widen to support what’s coming.)

Contractions.

It’s happening.

It’s not.

It’s happening.

It’s not.

And then the birth itself. Loud, messy, real. A dream coming into life. An idea, fully realized.

So again I ask, what are you birthing into this world, sister? We need your spirit, your joy, your love.

Glow on,

Katie
