natalieSelf love is getting a lot of play this month, for good reason. Self love is one of the most important ingredients to manifesting the life you desire, but what does that actually mean?

Most of my clients don’t come to me saying, “I really hate myself.”

But oftentimes, there are lots of hidden beliefs, limiting stories, and painful beliefs that are underneath the surface.

And unless we bring those stories out to the light, so they can be healed, they will continue to run the show.

This is what true, fierce self-love looks like:

  • Having the courage to face the deepest, darkest parts of yourself so you can be free.

Last May I was at the end of my rope.

I had hustled my butt off for months and still had little to show in my business as a health coach. I was ready to call it quits and go back to the corporate world. I was tired of explaining to people that yeah, we would talk about food kinda, but really we would talk about your feelings. It made me feel awkward, and confused the heck out of everyone else.

I realized that I had my own limiting beliefs that were keeping me stuck. On the surface, I said I believed in my own success, but a separate, huge part of me was terrified.

I realized that I didn’t actually love and trust myself to create the business and the life that I wanted.

And, in that moment I decided that I would do whatever it took to succeed.

Earlier that spring my friend had asked me to come to Iceland and do a personal transformation workshop at ‘Saga Fest’, a culture and storytelling festival in the middle of the Nordic wilderness. I figured I had nothing to lose, so I bought my plane ticket for mid-May.

Since I knew the people at this workshop wouldn’t want to hear about how to make the best kale smoothie, I decided to embrace the deeper side of this work and created an experience where together we would reveal and transform the disempowering stories we all tell ourselves. The stories of, I can’t. The stories of, I’m not good enough. The stories of, maybe next time.

The energy and power of Iceland is primal. The country is literally magnetic. You can’t be there and still believe in your own limitations. The truth is all around you: nature is a force, and you are a force of nature. And when you access that power, connect to that part of you that is connected to everything, anything is possible.

When I got back, I knew that I could no longer work with clients around nutrition (not that there’s anything wrong with it, I love eating and I love eating well!). For me, and the women I work with, it’s just not where the magic happens. The real magic happens when we face the deepest darkest fears and stories and transmute them into our power. Because when you do that, you become invincible.

After that, things started to click.

  • I filled my practice.

  • I had my first 5k month, then my first 5k day.

  • I organized and led a two-day leadership workshop for women.

  • I was featured in the Huffington Post.

I embraced my own version of feminine power and fierce self-love. And now, I show women how to do the same. Because when we face our own worst enemy, aka. ourselves, we take our power back. We connect to the force that has always been within us. The forces of nature that want to be expressed to and through you, have everything you’ve always wanted.

Since I’ve recognized it in myself, I can see it clearly in many of the coaches and entrepreneurs I work with. Subconscious stories that have become so familiar as to be invisible, but that are actually the root cause of them continuing to struggle in their businesses, and in life. Limiting beliefs that block abundance, stifle ease, and hinder creativity. Self talk that is not only disempowering, but downright depressing.

Unless you shine a light and bring awareness to these parts of you, I can promise, you can hustle all you want but the success you crave will continue to elude you.

IGC is a sisterhood that will support you in this work and celebrate all the success that follows.

We love you!
