Earlier this year, we announced that our beloved Kelly Curtis, Program Manager, would be moving to England to pursue her PhD and stepping away from her role with Inner Glow Circle. Kelly has been our rock at IGC for the past 6 years and has supported thousands of students, changing lives beyond what is measurable.

When she told us that she wanted to pursue this new adventure, we were proud and continue to be excited about her journey and to bear witness to the amazing spaces and places that coaching is taking her!

And, we knew that this was also an opportunity to promote one of our other team members. Kelly instantly knew who could take this on and has supported our entire team in making this transition possible.

And, with glowing smiles and excitement, we are honored to announce that Charisma Da’kira Hoskins will be stepping into the role of Training Program Manager!

Charisma earned her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Wayne State University. She continued her education at the University of Michigan, where she obtained her Masters in Social Work. She is also a graduate of the Walker’s Legacy PROSPECTUS Business Accelerator, designed specifically for entrepreneurial women of color. She is an Inner Glow Circle graduate, PCC credentialed coach, 2019 Diversity scholarship recipient and also an IGC Leaders Rising graduate.

We asked Charisma to share some thoughts on her new role and a message for our students and prospective students. Please take a moment to read the message and congratulate Charisma here.

1. What are you most excited about in this role?

I am most excited about cultivating relationships, this role will allow me to interact and support students on a regular basis and I truly miss that.  The most amazing part about this role is really being able to witness the growth personally and professionally of each student as they navigate their way through the program.  I am also super excited about being able to assist in their overall experience in coach training. The journey is so beautiful, I am excited just thinking about it.

2. What messages do you have for your current students

As you take this journey as a coach remember to always stay true to yourself. I used to think that I had to have all the bells and whistles for people to want to work with me. I remember comparing myself to my classmates and often felt as if I wasn’t doing enough. However, once I was able to sit with myself and really look at who I was as a person and align myself with what I truly felt in my heart the path truly unfolded for me. Think of your coaching journey like a fingerprint, everyone has one, but no one’s fingerprint is identical to yours. Know and believe that when you follow your most authentic path things will always work in your favor. Don’t rush the process, enjoy the journey, keep an open mind, practice what you preach and remain a student of the universe. You got this and I am forever and always rooting for you.

3. What messages do you have for prospective students

The best investment that you can make is in yourself. When you take this journey you are giving yourself permission to believe in yourself, to grow and create change on a grand level. We often think that we are only shifting the life of one person, but when you change one life you are impacting that person’s family and community. The work that you are getting ready to embark on is major. You are called to this work and you cannot take it lightly. No matter your background, know that you have something valuable to offer to the world. In the great words of Oprah Winfrey ” Whatever has happened to you in your past has no power over this present moment because life is now.

Ask yourself what do you wish to do in this present moment?

Congratulations, Charisma! The best is yet to come <3
