IGC Coaching School vs. iPEC: Which Coach Training Program Is Right for You?

If you’re comparing ICF-accredited coach training programs, there’s a good chance you’ve come across both IGC Coaching School and iPEC.

Both offer comprehensive professional coach education. Both provide ICF-accredited Level 2 training. Both include live instruction, mentor coaching and opportunities to practice coaching. And both report that many of their students begin working with paying clients before graduation.

But the actual student experiences are quite different.

IGC Coaching School is a women-owned and operated, all-women, fully virtual coach training school built around small weekly cohorts, ongoing live personal and professional development, and integrated business education.

iPEC is a larger, long-established coach training organization known for its proprietary Core Energy Coaching™ methodology, Energy Leadership Index® assessment and intensive live training modules.

So which should you choose?

There isn’t one coach training program that’s right for everyone.

Here’s what prospective students should know when comparing IGC Coaching School and iPEC.

First: Both Are Legitimate ICF-Accredited Coach Training Options

Let’s get this out of the way first.

This isn’t a comparison between a professional coach training program and a $99 online certificate.

Both IGC Coaching School and iPEC offer ICF-accredited Level 2 coach education designed to provide the educational foundation required for coaches pursuing the Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credential pathway.

That matters.

ICF accreditation means the education provider has gone through an external accreditation process and its curriculum aligns with established standards for professional coach education.

It also means prospective students can independently verify accreditation rather than simply taking a school’s marketing claims at face value.

One important distinction: graduating from either school does not automatically award an ICF credential.

The school awards its certification. The International Coaching Federation separately awards individual credentials such as ACC, PCC and MCC after applicants meet the applicable education, coaching-experience and credentialing requirements.

The Biggest Difference May Be How You Actually Learn

One of the most important differences between IGC and iPEC isn’t the curriculum.

It’s the rhythm of the training.

IGC: Weekly Live Training in Small Cohorts

IGC’s standard Level 2 program is built around weekly live virtual classes over approximately eight months.

Cohorts are intentionally kept small, generally 15 students or fewer, with an approximately 15:1 student-to-trainer ratio.

That structure is designed for students who want consistency.

Instead of completing most of their live training during a handful of intensive modules, students repeatedly return to class, practice coaching, receive feedback, apply what they’ve learned and continue developing over time.

For some learners, that ongoing relationship with trainers and classmates is an important part of the experience.

iPEC: Three Live Training Intensives

iPEC structures its core Coach Training Program around three live, interactive three-day training modules, spaced approximately three months apart.

Each module contains approximately 30 hours of live instruction.

Between modules, students continue learning through weekly coaching practice, skill-building webinars and self-study.

iPEC offers both virtual training and select in-person training options.

Neither format is inherently better.

They’re simply different learning environments.

Someone who loves immersive multi-day experiences may prefer iPEC’s model.

Someone who prefers smaller weekly classes, ongoing instructor relationships and a more consistent educational rhythm may prefer IGC’s model.

IGC Is Intentionally Built as an All-Women Learning Environment

This is one of the clearest differences between the two schools.

IGC Coaching School is women-owned, women-operated and intentionally designed as a women-centered coach training environment. However, IGC does not discriminate and opens enrollment to any gender identities and individuals who feel safer in women-led spaces.

That doesn’t make it the right environment for every prospective coach.

But for women specifically looking for professional education alongside other women, it can be an important consideration.

Students are often navigating career transitions, entrepreneurship, leadership, motherhood, relationships, financial independence and major identity shifts while completing their training.

IGC’s learning environment was intentionally built around women navigating those kinds of professional and personal transitions together.

iPEC serves a broader student population and is not an all-women training environment.

The Coaching Methodologies Are Different

Another significant difference is how each school approaches the craft of coaching.

iPEC: Core Energy Coaching™

iPEC is known for its proprietary Core Energy Coaching™ methodology.

Students also train in Energy Leadership® and can become certified to administer iPEC’s Energy Leadership Index® assessment.

For someone specifically interested in the Energy Leadership framework or who wants access to a proprietary assessment they can use with clients, this may be a meaningful reason to consider iPEC.

IGC: Ontological Coaching + ICF Core Competencies

IGC’s curriculum is rooted in the ICF Core Competencies and an ontological approach to coaching, which examines not only what someone is doing, but how they are being.

Students learn to coach beyond surface-level advice, accountability or problem-solving.

The goal is not to tell clients what they should do.

It is to help clients develop awareness, challenge assumptions, examine how they’re showing up and create their own meaningful change.

IGC students are also exposed to additional professional-development topics and modalities throughout their education, including areas such as NLP, grief and loss, trauma-informed considerations, diversity and inclusivity, niche development and ICF credentialing.

These additional lessons are intended to expand a coach’s professional awareness while maintaining appropriate boundaries between coaching, therapy, consulting and other helping professions.

IGC Integrates Business Education Into the Training Ecosystem

Learning how to coach and learning how to build a coaching business are two different skill sets.

IGC intentionally teaches both.

Level 2 students receive lifetime access to the Six Figure Certified™ Business Suite, IGC’s business-building curriculum for professional coaches.

Students learn about areas such as:

  • Choosing a coaching niche
  • Developing coaching offers
  • Pricing services
  • Finding clients
  • Marketing
  • Sales
  • Creating scalable offers
  • Building professional systems
  • Developing multiple revenue streams
  • Growing a coaching business beyond certification

That distinction matters because certification alone doesn’t create clients.

A coach can become excellent at coaching and still have no idea how to position an offer, market a service or conduct a sales conversation.

IGC was designed to address both sides of the equation.

iPEC also offers business-development education and graduate resources, including its Lead & Launch business-development program. Prospective students should compare the current business resources, delivery format and access terms offered by each school when evaluating their options.

Support Doesn’t End When IGC Training Ends

Another important part of IGC’s model is what happens after certification.

IGC Level 2 students receive lifetime access to the Six Figure Circle.

Think of it almost like a personal and professional development gym for coaches.

Graduates can continue accessing live coaching, professional development, business support and the broader IGC coaching community instead of graduating and losing their connection to the school.

That’s intentional.

Professional development doesn’t end because someone received a certificate.

The challenges simply change.

At first, a student may need help learning how to coach.

Later, she may need support signing clients.

Then pricing.

Then confidence.

Then boundaries.

Then scaling.

Then leadership.

IGC’s philosophy is that graduates should continue having a place to develop through those different stages.

iPEC also advertises ongoing graduate support and offers additional graduate education, so students who value long-term community should investigate the current graduate experience at both schools.

What About Coaching Practice and Mentor Coaching?

Both programs take practical coaching development seriously.

IGC’s Level 2 program includes:

  • 24 hours of coaching practicum
  • 10 hours of ICF mentor coaching
  • Live coaching demonstrations
  • Coaching practice
  • Observation
  • Feedback from trained professionals
  • Small-class interaction

iPEC also includes extensive practice and mentor coaching.

Its program includes peer coaching, mentor interaction and individualized feedback.

So mentor coaching itself isn’t an IGC-versus-iPEC differentiator.

The bigger distinction is the environment in which that development happens, including class size, schedule, frequency of live interaction and overall learning model.

How Do IGC and iPEC Compare on Business Outcomes?

Both schools report strong early client activity among students.

iPEC currently reports that 87% of its students start working with a paying client before completing its Coach Training Program.

IGC’s internal student reporting indicates that approximately 9 in 10 students report working with paying clients before graduation.

Those figures should not be treated as a direct statistical head-to-head comparison.

The organizations may collect, define and report outcomes differently, and neither statistic guarantees that an individual student will acquire clients or generate a particular amount of revenue.

What they do demonstrate is that both schools place students in environments where many begin applying their coaching education professionally before graduation.

At IGC, that transition is supported by combining coach education with business-building education throughout the student experience.

IGC vs. iPEC Tuition

As of September 2026:

IGC Level 2 standard tuition is $11,495.

IGC also typically offers enrollment incentives of up to $2,000 in tuition savings. Chat with an Advisor to learn more.

Available incentives can vary by cohort, enrollment timing and eligibility, so prospective students should speak with an IGC Admissions Advisor to learn which current offers may apply.

iPEC currently lists its Coach Training Program at $9,995.

That means comparing the two programs based on published sticker price alone may not reflect what an individual IGC student ultimately pays.

It also doesn’t account for what’s included in the investment.

For an IGC student, tuition includes not only Level 2 coach education but also lifetime access to the Six Figure Certified™ business curriculum and Six Figure Circle.

iPEC’s core program provides more ICF-accredited education hours and includes training in its proprietary Core Energy Coaching™ methodology and Energy Leadership Index® assessment.

Those are meaningfully different value propositions.

The better question isn’t:

Which program has the lowest advertised tuition?

It’s:

What will my actual investment be, what does that investment include, and which education and support am I most likely to use?

Want to Know What IGC Would Actually Cost You?

Because available enrollment incentives can change, the easiest way to get an accurate number is to speak directly with an IGC Admissions Advisor.

Current enrollment incentives may provide up to $2,000 in tuition savings.

An advisor can walk you through current tuition, available incentives, payment options and upcoming cohorts so you can understand your actual investment before making a decision.

What If I Can’t Pay Tuition Up Front?

This is another area worth investigating before choosing any coach training program.

iPEC currently advertises pay-in-full savings, short-term payment plans for qualifying students and longer-term payments through Coach Financing. Third-party financing terms and rates are subject to lender approval and applicant qualifications.

IGC offers third-party financing options as well, but does not rely exclusively on outside lenders.

IGC also offers extended in-house payment plans, giving eligible students additional ways to structure tuition without making third-party lender approval the only pathway available.

IGC also offers:

  • Partial scholarship opportunities
  • A 15% military and veteran tuition discount
  • Pay-in-full options
  • Extended in-house payment arrangements
  • Third-party financing options
  • Periodic enrollment incentives of up to $2,000

Because payment plans, partial scholarships, military/veteran discounts and enrollment incentives can affect an individual student’s investment, the best way to understand your current options is to speak directly with an IGC Admissions Advisor.

Where iPEC Has Clear Strengths

A useful comparison should acknowledge where each school stands out.

iPEC has been operating for more than 25 years and reports more than 25,000 graduates.

Its core Coach Training Program currently provides 160 ICF-accredited education hours, compared with IGC’s 125.

iPEC also offers:

  • Its established Core Energy Coaching™ methodology
  • Energy Leadership Index® assessment certification
  • A significantly larger alumni network
  • Both virtual and select in-person learning options
  • Additional specialty education through COR.E® Dynamics
  • A long operating history within professional coach education

Someone who strongly values one of those elements may find iPEC especially appealing.

Where IGC Is Structurally Different

IGC’s differentiators aren’t simply branding or aesthetics.

They’re built into how the school operates.

IGC offers:

  • An all-women learning environment
  • Women-owned and operated leadership
  • Fully virtual training
  • Weekly live classes
  • Cohorts of 15 students or fewer
  • Approximately a 15:1 student-to-trainer ratio
  • 10 hours of mentor coaching
  • 24 hours of practicum
  • Integrated business-building education
  • Lifetime access to the Six Figure Certified™ Business Suite
  • Lifetime access to live personal and professional development through Six Figure Circle
  • Additional workshops and education around topics such as NLP and ICF credentialing
  • Education around grief, loss and trauma-informed considerations
  • Extended in-house tuition payment options
  • Partial scholarships
  • A 15% military and veteran tuition discount
  • Periodic enrollment incentives of up to $2,000 in tuition savings

The result is a training environment intentionally designed around both becoming an excellent professional coach and figuring out what you’re going to do with that education.

So, IGC or iPEC?

Both IGC Coaching School and iPEC are established ICF Level 2 coach education options.

The decision comes down to what kind of coach training experience you want.

If you’re drawn to iPEC’s Core Energy Coaching™ methodology, Energy Leadership Index®, large alumni network or immersive training modules, investigate those features further.

If you’re looking for a small, all-women, fully virtual weekly training environment that combines professional coach education with business building and lifetime live development, investigate IGC.

And don’t make the decision based on a comparison article alone.

Attend a training.

Watch coaching demonstrations.

Talk to Admissions.

Ask about class size.

Ask exactly what’s included in tuition.

Ask what happens after graduation.

Ask how much live coaching you’ll actually do.

Ask how business education works.

And ask yourself one question that rarely appears on a program comparison chart:

Where can I actually see myself learning, participating and becoming the coach I want to be?

That’s the environment you’re going to spend months inside.

Choose accordingly.
