1. What inspired you to become a coach, and how did the IGC Coaching School help you take the leap?

I’ve always had a passion for helping people, and over time, I realized I had a natural ability for it, people constantly came to me for advice and guidance. The moment I felt the strongest calling was during a conversation with one of my marketing clients. Out of nowhere, she told me she wanted me to coach her, even though I wasn’t officially a coach at the time. Without hesitation, I said yes, and that decision changed everything. I found myself coaching 1:1 without a certification, and while I knew I was making a real impact, I also felt a deep responsibility to become the best coach I could be. That’s when I decided to invest in myself. IGC was exactly what I needed to go ALL IN on my coaching business. The most valuable thing it gave me was structure and accountability. I always knew I was good at coaching, but I wasn’t sure if I was providing the right framework to truly serve my clients at the highest level. IGC gave me the tools, the community, confidence, and support to step fully into my purpose.

2. What’s one powerful transformation you’ve experienced since starting Coach Training/Leaders Rising?

The most powerful transformation I’ve experienced since starting coach training was the ability to truly practice coaching. IGC isn’t just about attending classes, it’s about doing the work. The hands on experience of role playing as both coach and coachee was invaluable. But the biggest lesson IGC taught me was the power of mastering my listening, not just to my clients, but also to my intuition. Learning to ask the right questions and trust my instincts allowed me to create a space where my clients feel truly seen and understood. This deep level of connection has been key in helping them reach their goals in the most meaningful way.

3. How has IGC helped you step into your confidence and own your leadership?

IGC helped me step into my confidence and leadership by showing me what was possible. Seeing my coaches thriving made me realize that if they could do it, so could I. I followed the guidance I received, went all in, and chose to trust myself. Just two months after graduating from IGC, I made the bold decision to quit my part time job and fully pursue my coaching career while working on my Marketing Agency. Now, almost a year later, I can confidently say it was the best decision I’ve ever made. IGC not only gave me the tools to succeed but also the belief in myself to take that leap.

4. What’s one lesson you’ve learned in Coach Training/Leaders Rising that has made a big difference in your coaching or business?

The biggest lesson I learned was the importance of investing in myself. I’ll never forget the day I was on a consulting call with Kaitlin. by the end of that call, I made the biggest investment in myself that I had ever made. I was terrified. I cried afterward, not just because of the financial commitment but because I knew I was stepping into something bigger than myself. That moment taught me that the decisions that scare me the most are often the ones I need to make. Investing in ourselves is what allows us to grow, evolve, and step fully into our potential. That lesson has shaped both my coaching and my business in ways I never imagined.

5. What’s your favorite memory or “aha moment” from your training with IGC?

My favorite AHA moment was during our sales call training. I used to struggle with following up with potential clients because I didn’t want to feel “pushy” or like I was invading their space. But then Liv, the founder of IGC, shared something that completely shifted my perspective, if someone booked a call with me, it’s because, deep down, they know they need my help. Sometimes, that extra call or email isn’t about selling, it’s about giving them the push they need to move through their fears and take action on what they already wanted. That realization changed the way I approach sales and follow-ups, making them feel more like acts of service rather than pressure. I’ve been booked every time I open coaching calls now and I know that changed it all for me.

6. What’s the biggest mindset shift you’ve had on your coaching journey?

The biggest mindset shift I’ve had on my coaching journey was learning to let go of my own expectations and truly focus on my clients. In the beginning, I was really hard on myself when I didn’t see huge results on my client’s journey. I felt rushed, worried that I wasn’t good enough, and questioned if I was making a real impact. Then, during a coaching session with Kendell, I shared my concerns, and we took a moment to reflect on my clients’ wins. What I considered small were actually huge transformations for them. That’s when it hit me, I was being selfish. Coaching isn’t about how good I am; it’s about my clients highest good. It’s always about them. And sometimes, the smallest steps create the biggest impact. Thank you, Kendell, for that lesson. I carry it with me every day!

7. What advice would you give to someone considering Coach Training?

My advice is simple: listen to your gut. No one knows what’s best for you more than you. Your intuition is always guiding you, sending you signals, it’s just a matter of tuning in and trusting it. If you feel called to this journey, follow that feeling. The biggest transformations in my life have come from the decisions that scared me the most. There is no growth in your comfort zone. I promise, something beautiful happens when you choose to act from a place of love instead of fear. Trust yourself. You already know the answer.

8. How has your business changed since becoming a certified coach?

As soon as I got certified, I immediately felt like a new version of myself, way more confident. Having that certification not only boosted my own belief in my skills, but it also reassured my clients that I truly knew what I was doing. I decided to raise my prices, and the response was amazing. It just feels right to know that my clients are working with a professional who has the knowledge, training, and certification to guide them to their best results. Becoming certified has allowed me to step into my full potential and offer even more value to my clients.

9. How are you currently building visibility and growing your brand as a coach?

I’m very active on social media, sharing a blend of my life with my community, daily habits, workouts, work moments, struggles, tips, and tricks. I believe in being transparent and connecting authentically. Last year, I launched a podcast, and I release a new episode every week. The response has been incredible, and the community is growing in ways I never imagined! I also launched the second edition of my manifestation course, and it’s been such a beautiful experience to guide a group of women all working toward the same goal: becoming and living the best versions of themselves.

10. How has IGC continued to support you as a Graduate Student?

I absolutely love the community IGC has created. It never stops amazing me because there are always opportunities to connect, calls to cowork, to learn, to grow, and to share with an incredible group of women. Even after graduating, I realized just how valuable it is to have a space where I can always return. It feels like I never left, even if I’m not as active as I’d like to be. Knowing I can always come back to this supportive, like minded group of people is incredibly comforting.

11. What’s something unique about your coaching style or approach that sets you apart?

What sets my coaching style apart is its holistic approach. I tap into energy, intuition, guided meditation, tapping, and even messages from the universe, using tarot when the moment feels right. I always ask my clients for permission to introduce new methods or deepen practices they’ve already been using, and they absolutely love it! Another unique aspect of my coaching is how involved I stay with my clients. There is no client I don’t stay in touch with, our relationship goes beyond the coaching sessions. Sometimes we meet in person for a coffee and they can meet me as Maria and not their coach, and I love staying connected. The more vulnerable the process gets, the easier it is for me to truly help them reach their goals.

12. Tell us about a client transformation that deeply impacted you as a coach.

One client transformation that deeply impacted me was last year. In our first session, we completed the Wheel of Life and decided to focus on the top 3 areas with the lowest scores. One of the major decisions my client had been dreading for months was finally made, and I was the first to know. The healing process was intense, and my client had to start over, but within a few months, miracles began happening, things that felt like movie moments. In January, we revisited the Wheel of Life, and my client’s scores had dramatically improved across the board, every single area of his life had a significant improve, it was unrealistic to me. There was so much emotion on that call, and as a coach, I felt deeply proud. My client renewed coaching with me, which made me feel truly honored and validated in my work.

13. What’s one business or marketing strategy that has worked really well for you?

Authenticity has been my biggest strength in business. I share a lot of my life on social media, and while some may think I should focus only on coaching content, I believe being true to who I am is what works best. I’ve been told my social media looks more like an influencer than a coach, but when I try to do something that doesn’t align with me, it doesn’t work. By being authentic, I naturally attract people with similar values and lifestyles, which makes it easier to connect and grow my client base.

14. What are you currently working on in your coaching business?

In October, I sold out my 1:1 coaching for the second time, and in December, I launched the second edition of a 6 week course. After four months, I’ve reopened 1:1 coaching and that’s where I’m focused right now. I’m also dedicating a lot of time and energy to growing my podcast and YouTube channel, while balancing my marketing agency. Additionally, I’m currently working with a small team of three people to help support my growth. This year, my goal is to step into my speaking power and start showing up more on podcasts and at speaking gigs.

15. What’s something about your personal journey that more people should know?

Five years ago, I moved to Florida from Lima, Peru with just two bags and $500, completely alone. I started from scratch, washing dishes, making coffee, cleaning, and cooking at a foodcourt mall. Despite facing very low moments where I almost returned to my country, I never gave up. This journey is why I became a coach. I am living proof of resilience. If you have a goal, work hard, and believe in yourself with every ounce of your being, you will get there, no matter what.

16. What’s next for you? Any big goals or dreams you’re manifesting?

I’m focused on launching two more courses this year and continuing to stay fully booked every 3-6 months so I can focus more on serving my clients rather than constantly selling. I also want to interview incredible people on my podcast, especially to inspire the amazing Latina women who may not be ready to invest in themselves yet but still want to learn and feel empowered through the stories of other strong women.

17. How has coaching changed your life beyond just business?

Coaching has allowed me to finally say that I’m doing what I was meant to do in this world. It’s not just about business, it’s about living the life I’ve always dreamed of, helping others, and fulfilling my purpose.
