1. What inspired you to become a coach, and how did the IGC Coaching School help you take the leap?

Being a coach was a calling I had ignored most of my life. It is what I have always wanted to be AND do but I played things safely. After beating breast cancer, I decided that I was going to stop ignoring the voice. IGC helped me take the leap by providing the type of program that felt best in my gut. The staff is truly exceptional, and I know this would be my home.

2. What’s one powerful transformation you’ve experienced since starting Coach Training?

One of the most powerful transformations I experienced during Coach Training was realizing how much of my own power I’d given away while trying to fit into the box my job wanted me to be in. When I decided to pursue my own path, things started to click into place more quickly than I thought because I did it with intention and with a real, valued skill set.

3. How has IGC helped you step into your confidence and own your leadership?

Immensely! I have a community that I trust and can come to even now (10 years later) for feedback or ideas. In fact, I just got off a networking call with another IGC grad! But it’s also given my so many examples of what success could be that I never felt stuck in my journey – if something wasn’t working, I always had other examples I could consider in order to pivot my direction.

4. What’s your favorite memory or “aha moment” from your training with IGC?

I loved teaching new individuals to coach as a coach trainer and seeing them go from nervous to take up space to truly understanding how to guide, explore and open conversation. Even if someone doesn’t know if they plan to coach professionally, having the ability to act as coach will open so many doors and relationships.

5. What advice would you give to someone considering becoming a Coach?

Commit to it, decide that it will give you the tools you need to grow and establish yourself, and do it! Remember that you make the curriculum yours and be patient with the learning process.

6.  How are you currently building visibility and growing your brand as a coach? (Social media, speaking, collaborations, etc.)

I speak at conferences, teach training classes within communities, show up on social media, record podcast episodes and collaborate when it makes sense.

7.  How has IGC continued to support you as a Graduate Student?

When my Girlboss episode dropped this last week the first person to call me directly was Olivia – she squealed with excitement with me! It’s amazing to know that whether I talk to IGC people every day or not, someone is always in the background cheering me on.

8. What’s something unique about your coaching style or approach that sets you apart?

I believe that what sets me apart as a coach is that I seek to model empowerment and also create opportunities for my clients to practice showing up as the next level version of themselves. I don’t need to walk away from a coaching session proud of what I said – I’m genuinely excited to be present as a witness to what you’re building and also to let you borrow my belief system for an hour (that belief system = you can build anything you want.)

9. What’s next for you? Any big goals or dreams you’re manifesting?

Continuing to grow the business sustainably and start our family!
