1. What inspired you to become a coach, and how did the IGC Coaching School help you take the leap?

I have always been passionate about helping people navigate through situations in their lives and in their careers where they felt stuck. IGC helped me build the dream career where I was able to create a business that allowed me to do both!

2. What’s one powerful transformation you’ve experienced since starting the Coaching Level 2 Program?

I always felt connected to coaching, but I never felt confident in my ability to create a sustainable business around it. Since completing the IGC program and going out on my own, my business has skyrocketed, and I have earned more money than I was earning in my corporate jobs. All because I was encouraged to believe in building the thing that I felt most passionate about!

3. How has IGC helped you step into your confidence and own your leadership?

My confidence in my coaching has changed exponentially since going through IGC, because I had the ability to receive feedback and perspective from others who are experts in this space. I was surrounded by so many amazing coaches and leaders who encouraged me to really push myself and they gave me permission to make my business just as successful as I had dreamed it would be.

4. What’s one lesson you’ve learned in Coaching Level 2 Program that has made a big difference in your coaching or business?

I have learned to trust my capabilities in this space. There’s a reason why others have sought after my advice and support, and I now feel so deeply that it was the career I was always meant for.

5. What’s your favorite memory or “aha moment” from your training with IGC?

“The Pause”. Admittedly, I have always been the person who wants to quickly fill the silence in order to make people (and myself) feel more comfortable. But I have learned that there is so much power in the pause…in giving people a moment to reflect. You can learn so much about where someone is at based on how they handle moments of quiet.

6. What’s the biggest mindset shift you’ve had on your coaching journey?

It sounds cliche, but I have learned that if you stop focusing on the next step, the next promotion, the pay; and start focusing on what you’re truly passionate about, the rest really does come. I stopped focusing on what I was “supposed” to do and started looking inward at what I really wanted to do and what I could give back to the world, and everything really did start falling more naturally into place.

7. What advice would you give to someone considering Coaching Level 2 Program?

Once you commit to it, allow yourself to be completely in it. Be a sponge to the knowledge and perspectives of others around you. Be open to shifting the way you have always thought about yourself and about the world. Be vulnerable! Volunteer for the coaching labs, and soak in all of the amazing feedback that people have to offer! This is your chance to get even better at doing the thing you love. Take advantage of the resources at hand!

8. How has your business changed since becoming a certified coach? (Clients, income, confidence, etc.)

Oh my gosh- I’m truly blown away by the shift that has taken place in my business. Before I even finished the program, I had a pretty solid book of business, but literally hours after I posted on social media that I was officially a certified coach, I was offered my dream job of getting to be a Mentor Coach for others!

9. How are you currently building visibility and growing your brand as a coach? (Social media, speaking, collaborations, etc.)

I am currently a Global Mentor for an organization called SHEroes; I will be a Mentor Coach for Johns Hopkins Executive Leadership & Coaching Academy; and I am always active on both LinkedIn and Instagram, engaging with as many others as I can in this space.

10. How has IGC continued to support you as a Graduate Student?

IGC is truly a family. If ever I have a question or a roadblock, there’s never a moment where I can’t reach out to someone and get immediate support!

11. What’s something unique about your coaching style or approach that sets you apart?

My coaching style taps into the endurance mindset, using lessons from sport to build resilience, mental strength, clarity, and grit.

12. Tell us about a client transformation that deeply impacted you as a coach.

Truly, each and every client transformation that allows them to feel closer to who they are and what they’re passionate about impacts me as a coach. I love to see someone fall in love with the life and the career that was always meant for them. I love helping clients to remember who they are and what’re capable of.

13. What’s one business or marketing strategy that has worked really well for you?

Being vulnerable!! In order to sell a transformational offering, you need to be willing to share your own transformation. People so deeply appreciate the authenticity of that.

14. What are you currently working on in your coaching business? (New offers, programs, retreats, speaking, etc.)

Up until now, I have predominantly offered 1:1 coaching, but I am working to develop a group coaching offering.

15. What’s something about your personal journey that more people should know?

It hasn’t been easy. My resume may not reflect it, but it took a loooonnnnng time for me to really gain the clarity and courage necessary to pursue this path. And there were more than a couple missteps and tumbles along the way.

16. How has coaching changed your life beyond just business?

Let me count the ways!! On the deepest level, coaching has reminded me of who I am and what I have to offer to the world. But it has also changed the way I communicate with and listen to others. It has opened my mind to other perspectives. It has challenged me to get more curious about how people tick and in what ways I can help them move through times of difficulty. It has introduced me to what are now lifelong friends and fellow coaches. I can’t say enough about the power of following the path that feels right for you, and for me, it’s coaching. IGC completely validated that for me.
