1. What’s one lesson that you’ve learned in Leaders Rising that you’ve already applied?

Listening intently and approaching everything through curiousity has become a habit and common practice. I reserve judgement and taking a stance as I ask questions to help me build meaning. I find as I work with other community leaders, I am approaching productive conflict through curiousity and a clarifying lens. Most importantly, I am using this new focus on listening with curiousity to fortify my most treasured relationships with family and dear friends.

2. What advice would you have for someone going into Coach Training?

To new and aspiring coaches: dig deep, you will get what you give. You will learn more about yourself by learning to coach and through coaching. Be vulnerable enough to reflect and let it soak in; you will be better for it.

3. How has Coach Training/Leaders Rising benefited your business?

Empowerment and seizing potential. Leaders Rising reminded me of the power of women united and supporting each other toward succes, healing, and dreams. The kindness and knowledge create a strong community. This community empowers me to bring that energy and vision to my own business and the clients I work with.

4.  What is something you loved about Coach Training/Leaders Rising?

I loved the people I met through Leaders Rising and the IGC Circle. Acceptance and meeting everyone where they are it, creates a rich and safe learning space. Through this circle, I have developed deep and meaningful friendships. Everyone is working with each other and not against each other. I LOVE and value the people in my coaching circle.

5. How have you grown on a personal level as a Graduate Student from Inner Glow Circle?

I felt imposter syndrome when I started the program, but after a few sessions, I realized how empowering coaching can be. I began to understand that patterns of thought and emotional responses trap and inhibit us. This experience taught me that self awareness brings power and peace. And everyone needs more of that!

6. How has IGC continued to support you as a Graduate Student?

The mentor coaches at IGC are examples of the importance of connection; they demonstrate genuine concern and interest in students. Since graduating, I still have access to weekly coaching calls and learning opportunities. This open and continued access supports the premise that IGC cares about their students as people and professionals, enough to continue building coaching skills and relationship.

7.  Share something that you are currently working on personally or professionally…

Professionally, I am wrapping up the ICF Credentialing Process. I continue to have access to IGC expertise as I finish this process. I excited to achieve this goal and see what doors it opens up for me. I love working in people development, this certification and skill will help me as I continue to build my business and apply the skills in the corporate world.

8.  What is something you wish more people knew about you?

For years, I have introduced myself as a teacher and principal. I let it sit on the front porch, so people knew who I was by my title and job. But my job is not who I am and does not define me. During coach training, I realized that a decorate or dusty front porch does not matter. What matters most is the welcome after you enter the door. When you find your way to my house, you will be welcome because I see YOU. I see your potential and gifts. And I see how our connection will create more meaning in both of our lives.

9. What strategies have you taken to create visibility for yourself and your business?

I am not, not, not a social media poster. I watched from the sidelines. When someone asks, what are your social media handles? – my answer is, all I have is a broken door knob. I took some risks on social media to post about my coaching journey, which resulted in a contract to coach directors in a non-profit organization. I am currently working with a small group of IGC Graduates to build content and a visual podcast. This uncomfortable vulnerability takes me outside my safe zone and into a growth zone, which is opening doors for me.

10. What strategies have you taken to create visibility for yourself and your business?

By the end of 2025, I plan to get my PCC Level ICF Certification. While building hours, I am working to create a coaching program for educators. We need good teachers, and they need more support to navigate their challenging career and find greater joy in deeply rewarding work.
