Here are 5 more questions to ask when you’re choosing a coach training certification program.

1. Are there mentor coaching hours included in the coach training program?

When you are choosing a coach training program, there are a few things to think about such as: What path does this program follow? If it’s the ACTP Path, the hours are included within the program. If it’s the ACSTH/Portfolio Path, you will need these additional hours. To read more about the paths click here.

If you need the 10 hours, ask: Are they included in the price of the tuition? If not, what is the additional cost and how do I find a Mentor Coach who will be able to help me with this?

Or, if you are interested in becoming an ICF Credentialed coach, you will need to have completed 10 mentor coaching hours before you can submit your application for credentialing to the ICF. These hours are to be completed with a PCC or MCC level Mentor Coach and focus on helping you develop your coaching skills.

In some programs, these hours are not included in the tuition and require you to seek out (and pay for) additional mentor coaching hours.

10 Mentor Coaching hours

At Inner Glow Circle, we wanted to make this easy for you so IGC has INCLUDED the 10 Mentor Coaching hours in the cost of the tuition. There are many benefits of this, one being that as your trainers, we have the privilege of watching you grow and develop as a coach throughout the 6 months. We will remain together for the entire 6 months of the program. At IGC, we will  support you throughout the process, from the first day of class to the day you submit your paperwork to the ICF. We are able to see areas of growth, opportunities for growth, and can monitor your progress along the way. No need to search for a coach outside the company because we have it all taken care of for you!

2. I know I’ll be learning coaching skills, but what are some other ways I’ll be growing as a coach?

This is the part of Coach Training that many people don’t know about. Oftentimes, people join coach training to gain the skills they need to be a coach so they can quit their day job and live out their dream life. They don’t realize that there is a personal transformation that takes place while you’re going through the program.

It makes sense though. You can’t ask your clients to do something that you, yourself haven’t done yet. So if you’re asking clients to look at their limiting beliefs, to face their fears head-on, to break down their walls so they can make the changes necessary to live a better life, you’re going to have to be willing to do the same.

And that’s exactly what happens while you’re going through coach training.

It’s pretty magical, if you think about it. Going through a program that will give you the skills to change lives, while also simultaneously changing your own life. There is no better testimonial than a personal transformation that you can share along the way as you’re going through your coach training program.

Now that you’re aware of the personal transformation that takes place, think about who you would like to experience this with. Who would you like by your side as you experience some breakdowns, face your fears head-on and learn how to set boundaries and take a stand for what you believe in?

As always, Inner Glow Circle has you covered. We have a Facebook Community for our Mastermind so you are never alone. You have the community at your fingertips as you go through the program and are surrounded by women who have gone through similar experiences. We are also continually going through our own transformations and sharing our experiences so you have women to lean into in times of need or struggle!

3. Who will be teaching the classes and leading the mentor coaching calls?

Questions to ask yourself when choosing a coach training program: Who is teaching the classes? Do you see yourself in any of them? Are they running businesses that you’re impressed by? What is their niche? Are they easily accessible? What do they stand for? Do you like them as people? Would you hire them privately to coach you? What are they doing with their platforms? Are they speaking up about issues that are important to you?

As the saying goes, “You are the sum of the 5 people you surround yourself with,” so choose your trainers and your mentors wisely.

4. Diversity and Inclusivity

Ask yourself: Is the program welcoming to people of all backgrounds, races, religions, genders, gender identities, etc? Is that important to you? Why/why not? Is the company committed to equity and inclusion? What are they doing behind-the-scenes (and in the trainer’s private practices) to address this issue within the company and in the coaching industry? Is there a lesson/training on how to coach diverse populations? Does the training program offer scholarships geared for marginalized populations? Is there a sliding scale or lower-cost program to make this work more accessible?

The coaching industry is changing rapidly. It is no secret that it is white-washed and greatly lacking in diversity and inclusivity. Race, equity, social justice, and privilege are now daily conversations (or they should be, at least) within the industry and need to be addressed to be a complete and comprehensive program.

This work needs to not only be addressed within the training program but in the personal lives of the trainers as well, to create genuine awareness and change.

Inner Glow Circle is working to address these issues not only within our company but also within the industry. We are asking the hard questions and looking at how we operate to make it more diverse and inclusive. Also, we are hiring advisors to help us look at this issue head-on. We are committed to equity and inclusivity and being more accessible to marginalized populations. Book a call with us if you’re interested in learning more about our scholarships options for this year.

5. Investment, Value and Return on Investment

Lastly, consider this: What is the total investment of this program? Time, money, and energy? What is the perceived value of the program? Does the monetary investment feel energetically equal to the value of the program? What is the Return on Investment (ROI) that you hope to experience? Is the program committed to helping you get the ROI you desire? Is there a payment plan available? Are there any Early Bird enrollment discounts? Is there a discount for paid in full? Are there additional bonuses included in the investment? How committed is the program to making sure you succeed as a coach?

You are a businesswoman who wants to spend her time and money wisely, which is why all of these questions are so important and need to be asked. You need a program that is the absolute best fit for all of your needs. This is a huge commitment in time, money and energy, so it makes sense to do your research before you commit to such a life-changing experience.

You need a program that is committed to excellence and seeing all of their students succeed.

Inner Glow Circle is committed to creating lasting change not just in the coaching industry as a whole, but also in our clients’ individual lives. We know this is a HUGE step for a lot of our students and are here to support you every step of the way. We want to know what your personal Return on Investment is so we can help you achieve that for yourself. There are so many opportunities for support, coaching, training and additional resources. The only way to fail is if you choose not to show up and do the work.

Don’t let the money part get in the way.

If you’ve read this far I know you’re feeling this program. If it’s a HELL YES…but… I don’t know how I’m going to pay for that, let’s get on the phone! There is usually a way to sort out the money piece.

Are you ready to chat about your coaching business and how Inner Glow Circle’s Coach Training Program can help you make that happen? I hope so!
