Last night I was watching Obama’s Farewell Address followed by one of my new favorite shows, “This Is Us” and texting with Katie. I’ll admit, I was kind of feeling down in the dumps after Obama’s speech. I was sad and uncertain about what might come next.

Then came “This is Us.” Take my advice and keep the tissues on deck on Tuesday nights because this show will tug at your heartstrings in a BIG way. I was casually texting with Katie (see below) when a major breakthrough happened. That’s just what happens when all of your friends are coaches, I guess.

BAM.

Right in the middle of my “wahhh”, reality hit. No, not Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reality–but real, real life.

Is it possible that I’m living a fairytale right now? Is this the modern girl’s dream life?

Holy $#%!, maybe?

When I thought back to my childhood dreams and even my 20-something dreams, I realized that I actually have it all. It doesn’t look exactly like the daydreams I had when I was 10, but I think it’s even better.

It’s a freakin’ disaster some days, but it’s everything.

I have a man who I’m madly in love with (I’ve been dreaming about this since Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes in Romeo + Juliet, 1996).
I have a son (I’ve been dreaming of this since my first Cabbage Patch doll).

I have two dogs (Ok, honestly I really want 10–but this is a start).

I have a 6-figure business that I LOVE and that allows me to travel, play, chill with my family AND have an impact (I’ve been dreaming of this since I first discovered coaching in 2011).

I have a community of sisters and BFF’s and women who inspire me on an hourly basis inside of IGC (This is actually beyond my wildest dreams).

This is a fairytale, I realized. A 2017 modern, messy, meaningful fairytale. It’s not a picket fence or a 3 bedroom house in the suburbs. It’s not a prince in a castle, but it is my fairytale.

It’s everything I’ve chosen to create.

It’s everything YOU choose to create.

We are all writing our own fairytales. In this very moment. Whether you love it, whether it feels messy whether it feels incomplete or like a mystery–this life is your fairytale.

So tell me…what happens next?

Xoxo,
Olivia
